We’ve got exciting news to share with you—SFC is heading to Germany this May! We’re thrilled to be part of interzum 2025, one of the most influential global events in our industry, taking place May 20–23 in Cologne.

This year’s theme is right up our alley:
“Rethinking Resources: Circular and Biobased Solutions.” It’s a timely reminder that how we source, design, and manufacture matters—more than ever. We’re proud to bring the sustainable furnishings perspective to this international conversation.

Let’s Talk Materials!
We’ll be taking the stage on Thursday, May 22, at 11:00 AM for a session we’re calling “Materials Matter.” It’s a topic we know you care deeply about, and we’ll be diving into:

- The environmental impact of material choices
- What responsible sourcing really looks like
- Innovations that support circularity in furniture design
- How materials are shaping consumer preferences

Program Director Angie Kenny and I will share insights and examples from the front lines of sustainable furnishings.

"We’re excited to connect with global leaders and shine a light on how the right material choices can drive real change—for the planet and for our businesses,” says Scarlette.

“Designers and manufacturers make the first decisions that determine a product’s sustainability—so let’s make those choices count,” adds Angie.

Come Say Hello
We’ll also be holding down the fort at Booth J19 in Hall 5.2 in the USA/Canada Pavilion. If you are attending interzum, we’d love for you to stop by—whether it’s to chat about new resources, share what your company is working on, or just say hi.

Why interzum?
interzum is where innovation meets action. It’s a global gathering spot for anyone working at the intersection of furniture, interiors, and forward-thinking design. This year’s show features three key segments:

- Function & Components:  Tech that enhances comfort, energy efficiency, and product performance
- Materials & Nature:  Sustainable surfaces, woods, and decorative materials
- Textile & Machinery:  From fabric to foam to finishing touches, all under one roof

We hope to see many of you there—and for those staying stateside, we’ll be sure to bring back insights and inspiration to share with the community.

Until then, keep making thoughtful choices—and thank you, as always, for being part of the movement.

tschüss,
Scarlette
