SFC Working Group: Build your Sustainable Design Muscle, with Laura Hodges Studio
Laura Hodges, Owner and Principal Interior Designer of Laura Hodges Studio, will present the sustainable design principles used to guide her team on every project, with our focus today, mainly on spotting and selecting non-toxic and durable furnishings, but Laura will also offer guidance on how to engage and persuade clients when they are on the fence about sustainable choices.
This working group meeting will strengthen the scope of the question "What is sustainable design?" and help all SFC member designers learn more about the best material choices they can make to create healthier interiors and homes, learning through the lens of an established LEED accredited designer. Takeaways for participants will be a checklist to use as you shop High Point Market and beyond this year. Join to learn more about Laura Hodges Studio and Laura's retail boutique shop DOMAIN, in Catonsville, Maryland.
The info is geared towards Interior Designers who are SFC Members.
The SFC Members only meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays each month, from 12:00-1:15 PM EST, with adjustments for holidays and special events. Each meeting will be topic specific for designers, retailers, or manufacturers in the home furnishings industry, but members can attend and participate in all working group meetings for educational and networking purposes. A generous amount of time will be given for discussion and Q/A between participants and SFC staff following a short presentation.
