Aside from its cost efficiency, safety, and reduced CO2 emissions, some of Úpalet’s® most notable characteristics include: • Made of 100% recycled material • Ecological, Recyclable, Sustainable • No added chemicals or fumigation needed to meet ISPM15 requirements • Light-weight, 2.2 lb. (1 kg) to 18 lb. (8 kg), compared to traditional US wood pallets which range between 33 lb. (15 kg) to 48 lb. (22 kg)

2018: In 2018 Alpesa will be introducing LED technology to all lamps and lighting systems used throughout the production process. This energy saving measure will contribute to a more eco-friendly environment in all of Alpesa’s factories.

In keeping with our commitment to continual improvement, we are planning to take the following actions this year: On how we will manage our primary material or service to a more sustainable direction:

2018: In five years’ time, Alpesa aims to have only PEFC (Programmed for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified suppliers, ensuring the world´s forests are managed responsibility and that their multiple functions are protected for present and future generations.

Alpesa is actively taking steps to increase its usage of raw materials, from 90% recycled cardboard to 100% recycled cardboard, over the next five years.

In keeping with our commitment to continual improvement, we are planning to take the following actions this year: On education and promotion of the sustainability cause:

2018: Together with local government, Alpesa has participated in a campaign for children, which encourages the reuse and recycling of materials such as Alpesa´s new Premium cardboard packaging line.

This new Premium packaging is a versatile tube that can be reused as a children’s toy or school pencil case.

Moreover, Alpesa is in the midst of an exciting collaboration with CE/R+S, a local network of notably sustainable companies, to create a course on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
