Sustainable Furnishings Council has joined together with partners American Sustainable Business CouncilCenter for Environmental HealthHealthy Materials Lab at Parsns School of Design and others for an initiative to help furnishings professionals ask and find out,"What's it made of?"  Join us for this free lunch and panel discussion in which leading SFC member companies will share their perspective.

The panel will be moderated by SFC's Susan Inglis and will feature - Veronica Schnitzius, American LeatherAngelo Surmelis, angleo:HomeMatt Huber, Belfort FurnitureAnsje Miller, Center for Environmental Health  and Thatcher Davis, Selamat.  An overview will describe the health risks associated with the handful of hazardous substances most often found in furnishings products: flame retardant chemicals, VOC's including formaldehyde, anti-microbials, fluorinated stain treatments, and PVC.  Discussion will illuminate how companies respond to consumers' requests for transparency, and how they are able to drive innovation by influencing their supply chains.

Learn how you can get involved in SFC's work, make real progress in cleaning up your supply chain and ensure a healthy future for us all.  SFC research shows that 88% of furniture buying consumers are worried that our homes are making us sick.  Be sure you are part of the solution for them.
