More info:

Environmental awareness is growing rapidly, and more people are aware of the implications that products, especially home furnishings have on their environments and the planet. The demand for eco-friendly furniture is on the rise, and the market for sustainable furnishings is set to nearly double by 2027.

New at the April HPMKT is the Sustainable Choice: Green Product Sourcing Tour. Supported by the Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC), designers and retailers will have the opportunity to discover and source furniture, fabrics, and accessories for their sustainable projects and stores. Your experienced tour guides, Linda Kafka and Angie Kenny, the Program Director for SFC, will take you on a meaningful showroom journey, where they will share sustainable practices from vetted manufacturers. You will learn about the companies mission and values, what questions to ask, and what to look for when shopping for sustainable design projects. You will discover what types of materials and products are environmentally responsible. They will guide you on choosing furniture and finishes that will stand the test of time.

The Sustainable Furnishings Council has been guiding the industry for over 15 years and do not see this as a passing trend. Ultimately, going “green” does not have to be expensive or complicated, and sustainable living has many benefits. On this tour, learn how to make informed design choices that create beautiful interiors that are good for the environment and good for our health.
